Looking for a book about christian history?

The book Testament by John Romer is definitely one I highly recommend. It focuses mainly on how the Bible was developed, which naturally must include a lot of how the Church developed. It is from a secular perspective but treats its subject with the kind of respect you would hope to get from any good scholar.
