Petsnakes has a great answer. Good to see that someone knows what they're talking about. No need to feed in a separate container. If your snake is a shy feeder, taking it out of its home where it feels comfortable and placing it in unfamiliar surroundings won't help any. Just like Petsnakes said, snakes have excellent abilities of digestion, and I've never heard of a snake becoming impacted.
